Two women have been declared wanted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for allegedly trafficking a three-month-old baby.Emerald Bassey and Edith Omon were involved in the trafficking of the baby from Lagos to Banjul, Gambia in 2018.

They were travelling with their victim, a baby boy, aboard Air Peace, when they were detected by operatives. The duo escaped arrest while the baby was rescued and is now being raised in a NAPTIP facility in Lagos.
