Obaseki Officially Joins PDP Ahead Of Governorship Primaries

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He made the announcement at the PDP State Secretariat in Edo State on Friday afternoon. “I am here this afternoon to inform you that upon my resignation from APC, I have now decided, having consulted wisely within the state and across the country, to become a member of PDP,” Obaseki announced to a cheering crowd.

Recall that the governor met with Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto (PDP), Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State (PDP), National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus and other top members of the PDP on Wednesday. This followed his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday. His decision was against the backdrop of his disqualification from the party’s governorship primaries in the state.

This is coming some days to the party’s governorship primary election.

Recall that the governor met with Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto (PDP), Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State (PDP), National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus and other top members of the PDP on Wednesday.

This followed his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

His decision was against the backdrop of his disqualification from the party’s governorship primaries in the state.
