“Is This End Time?” — Another Fire Breaks In Lebanon After 1 Month
This new fire erupted in the port area of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon after the massive explosion there that killed more than 190 people last month.
There are no reports about what caused the fire this Thursday afternoon, but the blaze started at a warehouse, which contained oil and tyres.
In a couple of videos making rounds online, smoke could be seen billowing out over the city’s skyline while the port workers ran for their dear lives.
Firefighters are at the scene and the military said its helicopters were being used in efforts to extinguish the fire.
The Civil defence director general, Raymond Khattar, said that the area around the fire had been completely condoned and under control, but despite the assurances, residents are still traumatised by last month’s explosion which tore the city apart.
Others described how this new fire brought memories of the blast which happened on the 4th of August, 2020.
