Edo state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has vowed to deal decisively with anyone who intends to bring violence before, during and after the September 19 Edo governorship election.
Obaseki after receiving executive members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and other student union bodies in the state’s government house, said;
“Nobody has a monopoly of violence, If they want violence, we will show them violence.”
The Governor who was speaking ahead of the Edo State Governorship Election in September, earned that there will be zero tolerance to electoral violence and called on security agencies in the state to be proactive to their responsibilities.
Obaseki also advised the students not to take the law into their own hands; urging them to embark on a house to house campaign for a better future.
Nevertheless, he made this threats/warning following reports of members of APC and Oshiomhole boys destroying campaign billboards and vehicles with his inscription.
I don’t support violence for violence but as a sitting governor he is the chief security of the State hence he must speak tough to those that want to undermine his authority.
