The internet is really on frenzy, following Diezani’s new appointment by the Dominican Republic.
While the EFCC is busy looking for the ex-minister of petroleum, the Prime Minister of Dominican Republic has since reportedly appointed her as the country’s commissioner for trade and investment.
There was even a time she was rumoured to be battling with cancer but everything seems to be fine.
With her full citizenship in Dominican Republic and appointment by Roosevelt Skerrit, its Prime Minister, her extradition becomes practically impossible and the remaining are history.
Diezani Madueke is on the watch list of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for money laundering.
Diezani Alison-Madueke who served as Nigeria’s first female President of OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) from November 27, 2014 to December 2, 2015, had $40 million worth of jewelry which was recovered by the Government of Nigeria in July 2017.
Other items include:
$37.5 million home, $2.7 mil, $218K which were recovered from her in August 2017 and $153.3 million in Jan 2017.
Diezani was issued a diplomatic passport, DP000445 by the Dominican Government on May 21, 2015 shortly before the handover to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Her citizenship was confirmed by May 29, 2015 followed with an approval letter by the Prime Minister.
Now that she is a full citizen of Dominican Republic how will EFCC collect our money?
