More protests in Katsina, Buhari’s home state, as residents of Yankara, Faskari Local government blocked a major highway in the area over what they call “unhindered rape, killing and kidnappings by armed groups believed to be terrorists.”
The protesters, including children and women, were seen cutting down trees to obstruct vehicular movement in major roads, leaving motorists stranded.
The road blocked by the people of Yankara community on Thursday, June 11, links Katsina and other Northwestern states.
The protesters even vowed not to let anyone pass through Katsina state until the government takes full action about increased insecurity in the state.
This is coming days after a brutal attack by terrorists that claimed over 40 lives in Kadiasu community in the same Faskari local government area.
According to reports, the terrorists invaded the community in over 100 motorcycles, shooting sporadically.
The attack happened hours after the people of Yan Tumaki community in Danmusa LGA protested against the frequent attacks on the community.
